Oral history interviews of the Nansen Agricultural Historic District Oral History Project, 1999 May.

Interviews with long time residents of the Nansen Agricultural Historic District. They discuss the history of the valley, including descriptions of its cheese factory, farming practices, woodlots and springs, social connections, church affiliations, and language variations. The State Historic Preservation Office of the Minnesota Historical Society identified the district as an intact agricultural landscape, relatively unchanged since the early 1900s and retaining many features from the late 1800s. INTERVIEWEES: Arnold Maring, Janise Timbeross and Pearl Underdahl.
